The 2026 Subaru Outback is available in four trim levels. They start with the entry-level Touring, then move on to the Limited XT, Wilderness, and top-of-the-line Premier XT. The base Touring model features standard 17-inch alloy wheels with a split five-spoke matte black finish, LED fog lights, and a hexagonal grille design. Moving up, the Limited XT gains 18-inch dark grey metallic wheels and LED steering-responsive headlights with High-Beam Assist. The Wilderness trim features exclusive 17-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, Wilderness-design body cladding, anodized copper roof rail accents, and a matte black hood decal. The range-topping Premier XT wears 19-inch black-painted wheels with a machined finish. All models feature LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, a power-tilting and sliding sunroof with sunshade, and a hands-free power liftgate with memory function. The Wilderness trim interior stands out with yellow accent stitching and exclusive Wilderness badging.
Performance
The entry-level 2026 Subaru Outback Touring is the only model that features a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated Boxer engine producing 180 horsepower and 178 lb.-ft. of torque at. This engine achieves fuel consumption ratings of 9.3 L/100 km in the city and 7.5 L/100 km on the highway. The Limited XT, Wilderness, and Premier XT trims upgrade to a 2.4-litre turbocharged Boxer engine delivering 260 horsepower and 277 lb.-ft. of torque. This turbocharged engine achieves 11.0 L/100 km in the city and 8.3 L/100 km on the highway. The Wilderness achieves 11.3 and 8.8 L/100 km, respectively. Both engines are paired with a Lineartronic continuously variable transmission, featuring an eight-speed simulated manual mode with paddle shift controls. Subaru's Symmetrical Full-Time All-Wheel Drive system comes standard across the lineup. The Touring model provides 220 millimetres of ground clearance and can tow up to 1,224 kilograms with trailer brakes. The turbocharged trims increase towing capacity to 1,588 kilograms. The Wilderness trim raises ground clearance to 240 millimetres. X-MODE with Hill Descent Control enhances off-road capability, with the Wilderness featuring an enhanced dual-function version.

The 2026 Subaru Outback features a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a 12.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. The base Touring model features a six-speaker audio system, while upper trims are equipped with a premium 13-speaker Harman Kardon system, including a subwoofer and amplifier. MySubaru Connected Services, with a complimentary three-year trial subscription, provides remote engine start, remote climate control, remote door lock and unlock, vehicle locator, and SOS emergency service. SiriusXM Satellite Radio with 360L comes with a free three-month trial on the Touring trim and extends to three years on higher trims. Genuine Nappa leather graces the seats in the Premier XT. Heated front seats with three settings come standard across all trims. The Premier XT adds ventilated front seats with three settings.
